Lin departs from his traditional approach of building images around the character of his "subjects" and instead begins with "objects". Drawing inspiration from iconic designer furniture, he explores the relationship between the human body and design, creating a visual dialogue that moves beyond the boundaries of function and form. The expressive female figure brings warmth, emotion, and vitality to otherwise static furniture, while the furniture’s timeless and composed presence highlights the desire, tension, and energy embodied within the human form. Through this interplay of stillness and movement, reality and illusion, body and object continuously transform and reflect one another, creating images that feel both harmonious and dynamic. By juxtaposing the fluid lines of the human body with the sculptural silhouettes of classic furniture, Lin investigates the convergence of two distinct artistic languages. As the body becomes sculpture and furniture evolves into an emotional presence, the works invite viewers to consider the connections between art, design, and everyday life. Rather than guiding interpretation through language, he allows the images to stand on their own, inviting audiences to engage with the interplay of light, shadow, line, and form, and to discover their own meanings within the work. At its core, FUSE is an exploration of transformation—where movement and stillness, humanity and object, merge into a unified visual expression. |
